On June 8, 2023, the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence at Korea University co-hosted a special lecture delivered by Professor Joo Hyun Go of the Institute of East and West Studies at Yonsei University. Invited by JMCE Director Professor Jae-Seung Lee, Professor Go spoke on “Catalonia’s Quest for Independence: History, Current Landscape, and the Way Forward”. The event took place in room 324 of the International Studies Hall, with many interested students in attendance.

In her talk, she offered valuable insights into the Catalonian independence movement and examined how both Spanish domestic politics and EU-level dynamics have shaped responses to it. The lecture concluded with a lively Q&A session with the attending students.
